Packet8 6755i and 6757i CT IP phones may place an intercom call to another telephone for internal conversations. This convenient feature is easily operated by using the one-touch pre-programmed button on the IP phone. This feature is not available on the Packet8 6753i IP phone.
All Packet8 675xi IP phones allow the user to easily access corporate contacts through the search function. Incoming Caller IDs found in the corporate directory are automatically translated to display the contact name instead of the number.
All Packet8 675xi IP phones support up to four call appearance lines. This feature allows multiple users to view and answer incoming calls on the shared lines.
Perhaps the most common use of shared lines is with receptionists or administrative assistants whose job it is to receive incoming calls for other users. For example, attorney Mrs. Smith’s office assistant receives all of Mrs. Smith’s incoming calls, greeting each caller and offering personal service on behalf Mrs. Smith. The number that rings at the assistant’s desk outside of Mrs. Smith’s office is the same number that rings inside her office. After her assistant has received a client's call and notified Mrs. Smith, she can then easily pick up the call in her office without her assistant needing to transfer the call.
Another use of shared lines is in the case of general departmental numbers. Suppose five real estate agents each have individual lines for working with current clients, but the office has an additional line used to handle incoming calls from new clients. The agents have the option to take turns answering the calls from this additional shared line by simply picking up the line from their own phones.
